A Swingin' Affair is an album by Frank Sinatra that was released in 1957. It is a classic example of the swing era, with Sinatra's signature smooth vocals and the backing of a big band orchestra. The album features some of Sinatra's most popular songs, such as "Night and Day" and "I Won't Dance."
The album has received critical acclaim over the years, with many considering it to be one of Sinatra's best works. The arrangements by Nelson Riddle are often cited as a highlight of the album, with their intricate and nuanced approach to the swing genre.
The album opens with the upbeat "Night and Day," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Sinatra's voice is in top form throughout, effortlessly gliding over the swinging rhythms of the orchestra. Other standout tracks include the ballad "I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plans" and the lively "From This Moment On."

A Swingin' Affair is a must-listen for fans of Sinatra and the swing era. Its timeless sound and expertly crafted arrangements make it a classic of the genre, and a testament to Sinatra's enduring talent as a vocalist.
A bold, brassy record featuring Sinatra at the top of game. It opens with my personal favorite of Ol' Blue Eyes' recordings, "Night and Day," a song of devotion performed with popping, swinging swagger by Frank and his powerful backing band. The brilliance continues from there, with almost every song centered around the theme of relationships or love or lovers, with the possible exception of the closer, Sinatra's iconic rendition of "The Lady Is a Tramp." This is not just one of the very best Sinatra LP's; it is easily among the best vocal pop albums of the 1950's that I have had the privilege to hear.
A great version, predictably, from Sinatra. Have also heard on a German radio broadcast many years back a harder swinging version, this from Mark Murphy with Kurt Edelhagen's WDR big band. Very sadly, this resides quietly in the WDR's Cologne archive. It shouldn't!
One of the nicest little surprises to my Mom, I think the fall of 82, I was 24, my boss had two tickets to his concert she couldn't use and let me have. I actually wanted Dad to take Mom but he didn't want to go. So I took Mom it was at the San Diego Sports Arena and Liza Minnelli opened and it was fantastic. But at 24 I didn't really know how great it was then so I'm glad I got to do that for my dear ole Mom, RIP Ma, I love ya and sure miss ya. ?❤️
