I predict the reason
he can’t speak
His voice is gaflopped
His voice is gazumped
And that’s why he squeak
Is this a read along record?
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! It was an incredible mission just to find this priceless rendition of Gerald McBoing Boing. Had to sieve through so many different versions to find this definitive reading. During the 60's in New Zealand, this used to play on the Sunday Morning Radio Children's Request Session & was a big favorite. A Great Big Thankyou for uploading
What
Still have this on vinyl
He can't even say talk word.
CJOR radion station. Vancouver BC. Kiddie’s Carnival with Ross Mortimer 1950’s ?
Our family also grew up with this... I must have been about 4 or 5 when I used to listen to this. Wow...
How did you manage to rip a vinyl record recording out of this? I'm trying to rip some lost media audiobooks (fittingly associated with Dr. Seuss) but I have no clue how to do so, do you happen to know?
BOING BOING!!!
Thanks for posting this. I, too, used to listen to this recording when I was growing up in the 1950s.
SO what came first anyhow? The book or the cartoon? Or did this come out first? If so, that would explain Gerald's design here
Found a pretty scratchy 78 of this in a junk shop back in the 70s,. And I"ve still got it!
I Remember listening to this again and again!
Words cannot express how thankful I am to find this! My family has been looking for a recording for years. My grandfather was in the Navy and listen to this on the ship. He memorized it and would tell it to us (his grandchildren). I was even able to memorize most of it from listening to him tell it. Unfortunately as the years have gone by he doesn't remember as much and so he doesn't tell it anymore. So needless to say I am Overjoyed with finally finding a recording, so I can hear what he heard so many years ago.
Awesome. A "lost cut" is found. Thanks.
I had been looking for this record on and off for years.  My parents gave it to me as a Christmas gift in the 50's.  I found it on Ebay for a frighteningly expensive $100 and was most disappointed that the cost was a bit too much.  Imagine my surprise when I happened to think, "just for a laugh, I'll check youtube!"  And lo and behold, I found it here.  I played it and remembered nearly every word.  And I am 64 years old!  What fun.  Thank you so very much for posting this and giving me a glimpse into some very fond memories.  Especially Harold Peary's laugh!
I would love to find a copy of this record. Would be worth a pretty penny.
whoops! I hardly knew...
I listened to this on 78 rpm records one of my favorites in the early 50s! Thanks! Unfortunately my mom tossed the records at some point. I hardly new it was a Dr Seuss work until now.
You're most welcome. A long time friend introduced this to me and asked me to see if I could track down the recording. He remembered hearing it on CKUA Radio (public broadcaster) when he was growing up. I agree, he does a great reading of Dr. Suess.
Awesome !!!! Thank you so much for sharing this !!!!

I remember listening to re-broadcasts of "The Great Gildersleeve" on WAMU out of Washington DC in the 1980's... my introduction to Harold Peary !

Can't think of anyone better to read Dr. Seuss !
