Between 1956 and 1992 the Illinois quintet had forty-six records on the Hot R&B Singles chart, eleven* made the Top 10 with two reaching #1, "Stay In My Corner" for three weeks in 1968 and "Oh! What A Night" for one week in 1969...
Two of the original Dells have passed away, Johnny Funches died at the age 62 on January 23rd, 1998; and Marvin Junior passed on May 29th, 2013 at age 62....
* They just missed having two more Top 10 records when both "There Is" {1968} and "I Wish It Was Me You Loved" {1974} peaked at #11 on the Hot R&B Singles chart...
