American jazz and R&B vocalist. Born June 3, 1932, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Died April 10, 2007, New York City, New York, USA. She released several acclaimed albums in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Her biggest success came with 'The Late, Late Show' in 1957. For a time following her 1958 wedding to , an Antiguan Muslim trumpeter, she was also known by her Muslim name, Aliyah Rabia.
