American jazz saxophonist (tenor) player and bandleader. Born : December 27, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. Died : July 21, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. Worked with : Gene Ammons, Tom Archia, Von Freeman, Laura Rucker, Bennie Green, Amos Milburn, Red Callender. He lead bands in Chicago (late 40's to mid '50s,) and in Los Angeles (late '50s to mid 60s) until his retirement from the music scene in the late 60s.
