Circle X - Compression Of The Species

Review by Elizabeth Mercier

Circle X's album Compression Of The Species is a unique and experimental work of art. The band's sound is a blend of punk, funk, and avant-garde jazz, creating a sound that is both challenging and captivating.

The album opens with the track "Compression," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The song is a frenzied mix of dissonant guitar riffs, complex drumming, and surreal lyrics. It's a challenging listen, but one that rewards repeated listens.

Other standout tracks include "Terminal," which features a driving bassline and haunting vocals, and "Radiator," a more straightforward punk-influenced track with a catchy chorus.

Throughout the album, Circle X demonstrate their impressive musicianship and willingness to take risks. The songs are often unpredictable, with sudden shifts in tempo and tone.
