Review by Craig Bouk

Carole King's album Hard Rock Cafe is a timeless classic that showcases her versatility as a musician. The album features a mix of rock, pop, and soulful ballads that are sure to delight any music lover.

King's voice is as powerful and soulful as ever, and her songwriting skills are on full display throughout the album. From the upbeat and catchy title track "Hard Rock Cafe" to the emotional ballad "So Far Away," each song is a masterpiece in its own right.

The album also features some great collaborations, including the iconic duet "It's Too Late" with James Taylor. The chemistry between the two artists is palpable, and their voices blend together beautifully on this track.

Comments

The 'Come a little bit closer's answer song.
It was played on the radio once in Vancouver in 1977. I am telling you it never was played in Canada again. I never heard it once after. The last time I heard this exactly 45 years ago. Crazy. Thanks for posting.
This Clip looks like it was done in AUSTRALIA, when the red MG pulls in at the start of the clip you can see it pass a HT/HG HOLDEN Cool Song BTW
Still upbeat to this time.
It's bloody absolute criminal that a pretty Lady has to lose her looks ?? percent
Okay where did this come from? Was it like a British music show that filmed the actors and then put the music in the background? A scene from a movie?
A dawn of time MTV rock video mock up using the 60 song? Could someone reveal anything?
How could this song not have been a hit?
I thought there was also a guy who sang this song aside from Carole King's. Trying to find that other version though.
So great!
Love that Latin sound! This is one of the forgotten Latin pop gems, right up there with Neil Diamond's "Cherry Cherry," Jay and the Americans' "Come a Little Bit Closer," Richie Valens' "La Bamba," 1910 Fruitgum Co.'s "Simple Simon Says," and the Stones' "Get Off My Cloud." I heard "Hard Rock Cafe" only twice in '77, and I'm so glad to hear it again! Thank you!!!!
I KNOW YOU AS MEAGHAN - THE EXCHANGE STUDENT - AT THE XMAS PARTY - WHO BECAME FAIRLY ANGSTY AT THE MENTION OF THIS SONG AND WHEN I ASKED IF ANYONE HAD A GUITAR TO PLAY SOME SONGS UPON - AS WELL AS THE FRIZZY HAIR AND THE JEWELERY BLING; 4 OUT OF 5 LEMONS IS A WINNING ID SCORE IN MY TERMS - AND I ONLY BOUGHT THE TAPESTRY CD LAST WEEK - ONLY 40 YEARS BEHIND POPULAR CULTURE - AND I DIDN'T RECOGNISE YOU AS CAROLE KING - BUT THE PHONE CALL TO CANADA SEEMED UNNECESSARY - I THOUGHT NOTHING MORE ABOUT ANYTHING UNTIL - A HORSE WITH NO NAME - WAS PLAYING IN THE 'CLOUD' AMPLIFIER OR RECEIVER THINGS ON THE TABLE.
Lovely video, thank you for sharing. If you get a minute, please stop by my channel and take a listen my original music. I hope you enjoy.
This was one of my favorite Carole King songs now and back in 77. This should be included on her best of collections but it's not. Just picked up the Live in Hyde Park cd/DVD. Unfortunately she didn't perform this song but show is still great and highly recommended.
2:06 I believe the "lonely guy" is brit actor Andrew Hall (Butterflies, 1978 and Children's Ward 1989).
Some famous people in this video.  Including Mick Jagger.  Look carefully.
*Rock the weekend!* :))
Great song! Terrible shot, terribly edited and terrible acted. You gotta love the 70's.
