Big WhaKoo - Big Wha Koo

Review by Inna Ligum

Big Wha Koo's self-titled album is a funky, soulful journey that takes listeners back to the golden age of disco and funk. With its infectious grooves, tight horns, and soaring vocals, this album is a must-have for anyone who loves classic dance music.

From the opening track "Hollywood," it's clear that Big Wha Koo means business. The song's driving beat and catchy chorus set the tone for the rest of the album, which is full of upbeat, danceable tracks that will get even the most reluctant party-goer up on their feet.

Highlights include "The Party Line," a funky jam that features some killer horn solos, and "Funky Broadway," a cover of the classic Wilson Pickett tune that gets a fresh update thanks to Big Wha Koo's tight musicianship and soulful vocals.

Can u please share "She sees the night" if you have it?
I wish their whole Lp was on here!!!
Hot Dang!!! I finally found It!!! After all these years... Yeah!!! (Another tune that's been in my head for years... I first heard it on WLAV-FM way back when... haven't heard it since, until now!! + + THANK YOU!!!) :) !!!
Thank you so much for uploading this on Youtube as I remember it so well when the late great John Peel used to play this back in the Seventies. David Palmer had not long before been let go from Steely Dan and didn't miss a beat as lead singer for this very underated group.
An excellent tune from way back.  I used to have the album.
Rip Danny ????
I had the LP and lost it through the years great song and band ??????
Played on Backstage show today 5th Sept 2020.
I got this on 8 track in a pile of over 500. I found a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough. It wasn't the only hidden gem either. I got so lucky with that pile of 8 tracks
Lead vocals were by Don Francisco, who had a gorgeous & angelic voice!
I composed this song (I am JOEY CARBONE), and DAVID PALMER wrote the lyrics, and sang BG vocals.
Why is it that Wha-Koo albums aren't available on CD or itunes?
@ULLYA - Thank you very much for this information, no offence taken, will amend the notes accordingly.
Another wonderful talent taken far too early, condolences to the Douma family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Danny lived this song at least once in his life as captured in the spirit of his voice with these words. He rocked this one!!! The best vocals for this song ever..........RIP Danny..........xxxx2u.
