Review by Hannah Ubl

Band Of The Black Watch's album "Scotch On The Rocks Lets Go To Jersey" is a refreshing blend of traditional Scottish music and contemporary rock. The album features a variety of instruments including bagpipes, drums, guitar, and bass, creating a unique sound that is both energetic and soulful.

The album's opening track, "Jersey Shore," sets the tone for the rest of the record with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody. The album then moves into more traditional Scottish tunes like "The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond" and "Amazing Grace," showcasing the band's skill and reverence for their heritage.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Highland Cathedral," which features a beautiful bagpipe solo accompanied by haunting strings. The song builds to an emotional crescendo, leaving the listener feeling both uplifted and moved.

This was my passing out parade march. Still love it today.
Still remember the 70s as a kid . I forgot all about this record and this was dads and brings back memories along with the smell of stale tonic water and tartan bitter spilt on the usual terrible 70s carpet .. Used to play it on his music centre. Going to have to get a record player and see if mums still got it… I’m now 54

Always loved it, ever since I first heard it at the Colchester Military Tattoo in 1975 (think it was recorded when the Black Watch were stationed in Colchester). Still reminds me of riding the no. 1 bus to school.
Isn't it funny how this became a pop hit reaching No8 in the charts in late '75. Unusually for a record like this it fades out. Love it.
Proud to be Half Scottish love The Bagpipes ??️
Memories of autumn 1975.
A Bonny tune lads
I still have my Uncles copy of this on the yellow and blue spark label. He used to play it a lot when I was a kid.
Ca crache du feu - vite, un whisky on the rocks !
You can almost hear the clink of charged glasses of whisky at hogmanay
I’m listening to this while enjoying a glass of Glenfiddich (neat of course). I always thought that pouring it on the rocks was a waste of good whiskey.
My father played Euphonium on this.
Had the LP this was one. Plus two other LPs...played all of them TO PIECES.
for us australians would associate this with ktels Turned on
I remember watching this on Top of the Pops , great memory.
