Astrid Plane is known as the lead singer of the band , which had several chart topping hits in the 1980s including Obsession. They appeared on American Bandstand, Soul Train, The American Music Awards and other TV shows. They toured the USA, Canada and Europe and filmed several music videos, which were shown on high rotations on MTV and VH1.
Obsession was featured in the TV series Nip and Tuck, and movies What the Bleep Do We Know? Adventureland, and Hot Tub Time Machine.
Astrid and Animotion have been performing shows with other popular bands from the 80s including Devo, Flock of Seagulls, Missing Persons, Berlin, The Motels and Bow Wow Wow.
Astrid did a US tour with Animotion with shows in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Atlantic City. She also opened for Eddie Money with Variety Band, Groove Monkey.
In her hometown in Central California, her live theatre credits include two musicals at Roger Rockas: Thoroughly Modern Millie and Beehive in which she played Janis Joplin six nights a week for nine weeks.
Astrid participated in a book study on A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which inspired her to write and record her solo CD And So It Is.
