Ames Brothers - Platter Party

Review by Paul van Iterson

Platter Party is an album by the Ames Brothers, a popular vocal quartet from the 1950s. The album features a collection of classic pop and jazz standards, including "Sentimental Journey," "Besame Mucho," and "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter."

The harmonies on Platter Party are impeccable, with each member of the group contributing to a smooth and polished sound. The arrangements are also well-crafted, with lush orchestration and tasteful instrumentation that perfectly complement the vocals.

One standout track on the album is "The Man with the Banjo," which showcases the group's ability to inject humor and playfulness into their music. The song is a fun romp through a catchy melody, with the banjo adding a touch of Americana to the mix.
