Review by Andy Swarbrick

Plague Of Ashitaka's latest album, "Taking Lives On Ancient Tides," is a captivating journey through haunting melodies and powerful instrumentation. The band's unique blend of metal, folk, and symphonic elements creates a sound that is both dark and beautiful. The album's opening track, "The Darkening," sets the tone with its ominous tones and haunting vocals. The use of traditional instruments such as the flute and violin add a folk element to the music, while the heavy guitar riffs and pounding drums give it a metal edge. The album's standout track, "Wolves Of The Sea," is a fierce and epic anthem that showcases the band's impressive musicianship. The vocals, provided by both male and female singers, are powerful and emotive, adding depth and intensity to the already powerful music. "Taking Lives On Ancient Tides" is a stunning album that showcases Plague Of Ashitaka's unique sound and impressive musicianship. Fans of folk metal and symphonic metal will not be disappointed.
