Mel Blanc - Tweety Pie

Review by emarylen

Tweety Pie is a delightful album that showcases the vocal talents of Mel Blanc, the legendary voice actor behind some of the most iconic cartoon characters of all time. The album features 22 tracks, each one dedicated to the lovable yellow canary, Tweety.

Blanc's ability to bring Tweety to life with his voice is truly remarkable. He captures every nuance of the character's personality, from his innocent and playful demeanor to his mischievous streak. The album is filled with classic lines and catchphrases that will have fans of the beloved cartoon character smiling from ear to ear.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat," which sees Tweety trying to outsmart his nemesis, Sylvester the Cat. Blanc's vocal performance is spot-on, and the song is sure to bring back fond memories for anyone who grew up watching the classic Looney Tunes cartoons.

I remember seeing this as sheet music on a neighbors piano way back in 1955, and not hearing it until today.
This is the first time I've encountered this original, composed by orchestra leader Billy May. I listened hundreds of times to a cover version by Danny Kaye on one of his early 1960s children's records.
First record I owned as a kid :)
Wow this song wasn't released on Warner Brothers Records

Granny: Don't even think about it!
I also loved the flip side of the 45, "Yosemity Sam" :-)
I had this record when I was little :D
