US instrumental group from San Diego, CA. Members: Joel Scott Hill (guitar), Johnny Callard (drums), and Harold Kirby (bass guitar) Ron Lynch (sax) They were first called Joel Scott Hill and The Rebels and played in the San Diego area.In 1958 they changed their name to The Strangers and signed to Titan records in Los Angeles,their biggest hit was Caterpillar Crawl.Later in the 60s Joel Scott Hill was a member of Canned Heat.
