Led Zeppelin - The Longest Night

Review by Raf Buks

The Longest Night, the ninth studio album by Led Zeppelin, is a compelling and powerful record that showcases the band's signature sound and musicianship. Released in 1982, the album features eight tracks that range from hard-rocking anthems to bluesy ballads.

From the opening track, "In the Evening," it's clear that Led Zeppelin is in top form. The song's driving rhythm and catchy guitar riffs set the tone for the rest of the album. Other standout tracks include "Carouselambra," a sprawling epic that features intricate keyboard work and soaring vocals, and "All My Love," a heartfelt ballad that showcases Robert Plant's emotive singing.

The Longest Night also features some of Led Zeppelin's most experimental and adventurous moments. "South Bound Saurez" is a funky, upbeat track with a horn section, while "Wearing and Tearing" is a raucous, punk-inspired song that features some of Jimmy Page's most frenetic guitar work.

Dude he wasn't playing sloppy his mind was always trying to create different sounds espically live ..same for hendrix He was a master in the studio.. I don't wanna hear the same exact f#$k tech studio version !
Can someone help me figure out a childhood memory? My Mom took me to a concert in New Orleans in the 70s and I remember Peter Frampton and Led Zeppelin together. Maybe at the warehouse? I think I was around 6-8 yrs old. So 1971 to 1975ish? Any info is helpful. Thanks.
The introduction to Heartbreaker is just magic!
Awesome
hey let's face it...we ZEP fans can never get enough of the LED!! ???
This is vintage, classic Led Zeppelin. Amazing performance. This is why they are considered the best rock band of ALL time.
This sounds great. Great 73 show. Party in New Orleans. The atmosphere and high party energy reminds of the LA Forum show. ?
I just ordered my T-Shirt from the 1975 tour. I knew I had went to an earlier tour in New Orleans that was fantastic, so I looked this one up. In 1973 I was graduating high school, about 18 years old and having the time of my life. I do not remember if it was at a Led Zeppelin concert, but the first time I saw people openly smoking marijuana at a concert was at the municipal auditorium in New Orleans. I attended several concerts at the Municipal Auditorium in N.O. and the Auditorium in Mobile, Alabama.
Foo Fighters —— Taylor Hawkins —— — performed “Rock and Roll” at The Kennedy Center honoring Led Zeppelin. They were so good —— as good as the original.
Holy shite! I was there, New Orleans Municipal Auditorium. My 1st concert, 16yr old and it cost $5.00! Thanks for posting... so cool to hear it ...AGAIN!
To me , this is an even better show than the SONG REMAINS soundtrack . Outstanding show .
Man they were on fire this night!
2:16:47 Wow! That's very nice for 1973
It’s great to see a lot of serious Zeppelin fans critiquing shows here. And I thought I knew/heard it all.
Page misses his cue on moby dick cause he was laughing at what Robert says about bonzo
Such a live Powerhouse !! Peter Grant had those boys tuned into a well oiled machine !!
John Paul Jones , never gets the credit I feel he deserves!! Between his organ and keeping the bottom a float
Thanks for posting this! I should have bought this three cd set when I had the chance
1:58:30 I love this drum intro from Bonzo!
By the godsssssss page’s tone in 73 is PHENOMENAL!! Makes my brain melt it is literally so damn perfect
John Bonham sounds like a human thunderstorm on TSRMTS
