Demics - talk cheap

Review by Má Âmbar

Talk Cheap, the debut album by Demics, is a classic punk rock record that has stood the test of time. Released in 1979, the album features 11 tracks that are raw, aggressive and full of energy. From the opening track "New York City" to the closing "I Wanna Know," Demics deliver a fast-paced, no-nonsense punk rock sound.

The album's standout track is undoubtedly "Oh Well," a catchy and upbeat song that showcases the band's ability to write memorable hooks. The lyrics are simple but effective, with the chorus of "Oh well, what can you do?" sticking in the listener's head long after the song has ended.

Other highlights include "Talk's Cheap," "Teenage Love" and "Velveteen." The latter is a slower, more melodic track that shows Demics' range and ability to switch things up. The guitar work throughout the album is excellent, with lead guitarist Keith Whittaker delivering some memorable solos.
