- About Me: Kent artist Paul Apps is a passionate wildlife and landscape artist. His work captures the unique character of the subject and interaction with its natural environment. Quality of light and atmosphere is equally important, and is rendered with impressionistic brushstrokes to portray the subject. Paul turned professional in 1987 and ever since his success and reputation has flourished. As well as exhibitions in the UK, artworks have been displayed in Africa, Singapore, Europe and the USA. Additionally Paul has taught art techniques, contributed to tuition magazines and helped raise thousands of pounds for wildlife conservation charities through sales of his work. Paul now teaches students on a one to one or small group basis, and conducts workshops several times a year. Paul is consistently experimenting and looking at new ways of developing his canvases. Currently exploring landscape and Maritime subjects, he is taking his love of painting En Plein Air to new and more invigorated levels. The freshness of applying the paint is a thrilling challenge that cannot be replicated in a studio. Experiencing the essence of a scene and capturing the impression it has upon him fuels outstanding compositions. His fundamental aim remains to paint the best images possible.
