  • About Me: andrea schneider "innovator, applied social scientist, creative thinker, drawing outside the lines, love dogs" Bio I have a calling and passion for applied social science and hold two degrees in Political Science. I'm known for developing programs and designing corresponding infrastructure, which aligns program goals, values and strategies. I have developed new methodologies, integrating planning and evaluation, which increase program strength, sustainability and viability. Under the Clinton Administration, and as a Fellow in the U.S. Justice Department, I evaluated the innovative community policing grants in the United States, resulting in a book delineating best community policing practices and distributed to 7,000 local law enforcement agencies. I received a $3M federal grant to create an intermediary organization called the Community Partnership of Santa Clara County, pioneering new Open Systems Planning and Evaluation processes to address compelling community initiatives. I am a systems designer or re-designer. I love working with people and communities around compelling issues, using clean logic to actually use what we know, the idea of spending the dollar once, and leveraging the time, talent and resources we have, instead of starting over every time. I love dogs and run a social network called pdxdog.com. I was brought up in Palo Alto, am a graduate of CAL and a really curious person. I've had some amazing challenges, which I solved, and never had a professional position with a prior job description. I am passionate about innovation, win/win situations and making a difference.
