  • About Me: My theatre experience began with my work at California State University, Northridge. CSUN’s program is very comprehensive, and there I learned everything from acting to set and costume design. I gained invaluable experience producing and directing original work as president of the student run CSUN Theatre Guild. Upon graduation, I founded the Sons Of Beckett Theatre Company. Our first production of Waiting for Godot drew wonderful reviews from Los Angeles Times and the LA WEEKLY, who called it “Superb.” Since then I have produced over eleven shows with the S.O.B. Theatre Company. Our Vaudeville Musical Version of Oedipus the King was called “Blindingly Funny” by the Los Angeles Times, and BackStage West called our West-Coast Premier of Gao Xingjian’s The Other Shore “Intoxicatingly Potent.” Outside of the S.O.B. Theatre Co., I have worked on productions with companies such as East West Players, Tres Chiganos, Meadow’s Basement and Veterans for Peace. I have worked as a theatre instructor for the Teenage Drama Workshop as well as Ability Arts, an organization designed to teach different artistic disciplines to children and adults living with disabilities. As an MFA Directing Candidate at UCSD I have studied under Gabor Tompa, Dominique Serrand, Les Waters, Karl Webber and Christopher Ashley. I have presented the world premiers of Ron Macants’ “Refraction” and Stephanie Timm’s “Everything Nice” and Sharif Abu-Hamdeh's "Bodies in the Park" as part of the Balswin New Play Festival. I also directed Chay Yew’s adaptation of “The House of Bernarda Alba”. The Gaudi inspired Scenic design and Flamenco influenced sound design of my “Bernarda Alba” we accepted into the 2011 Prague Quadrennial (International Exhibition of Scenography and Theatre Architecture). My Thesis production of “The Threepenny Opera” was one of the most successful shows in UCSD’s recent history, selling out our 300 seat house every night.
