About Me: Welcome to Delectable Soaps and Scrubs!
My name is Aimee, and I'm a working, stay-at-home mom, (no that's not an oxymoron) with two amazing children. Creating and designing, two of my favorite passions, are not just limited to making soaps, scrubs and other body care luxuries. I dabble in interior design, woodworking, sewing, etc. I'm also actively involved in Girl Scouts and volunteer, as opportunities arise. Needless to say, I'm rarely idle.
When my son was about a year old, I started looking a bit more closely at the ingredients being used in the body care products we were using. A popular "natural" product that I had been using on both my children, with no concerns, suddenly started making him break out with a rash (and, I mean it was everywhere!). Realizing that the label had changed slightly from the previous bottle to the new one (the new one claimed it was even more "natural") I went to the health food store where I had purchased it, only to be told the "natural" company had been sold to Clorox a few months earlier, apparently resulting in formulation changes! Yet, health food stores continue to sell this product, even today- that was almost 8 years ago. I, personally, am allergic to anything containing mineral oil, petrolatum, petroleum jelly - all petroleum based products. Which, by-the-way are not allowable substances in skin care products in Europe and other countries. Just saying. All this research led me to create my own body care products.
Great pride is taken in the array of products that I personally handcraft. Working from home, each recipe is designed, created, and packaged, making each item unique. All body care products are produced using high quality, vegetable and plant based oils, natural mineral colorants, essential oils or phthalate free skin-safe fragrance oils, and other products that are natural or plant derived. Delectable Soaps and Scrubs products are always free of parabens, phthalates, petroleum based products and fd&c colorants.
Enjoy our full line of Bath & Body Luxuries and check back often as I'm always working on something new!
Cheers,
Aimee
