Great delta blues!!!!
Anybody has the lyrics for this song? I mean, on the internet I've found a lyric but what he sings is not exactly the same for.
Sorry but was released in late 65.
I wish I could go back in time to this era!!!
TH BLUUES START TUH WALKIN ALL OVER MY BREAD.HOW COOL IS DAT??? THIS HARP HAS SOUL.!!!
oh yeah!
Brilliant Clapton licks at the end.
I have always been rootin-tootin-crazy for the recording Sonny boy sounds so go .
eric clapton does play some very tasty guitar licks.
You shall get back your happy innocence, my dear friend! This is Delta Blues!
Sunny Boy Williamson - first feeling and "has somewhat to have" for my own harp. 24 ours too much. 23 is better.
Thank you for posting. That album is the most un-sung masterpieces of live recording ever. Every song is awesome.
Great!
I had this album when I was in high school, when me and my best buddy, thought we wanted to be blues harp players. We bought a few harps,..they were pretty cheap in 1970, and I had a C, D, & G, and we got others as we got better and wanted play along with other musician's blues music. We played them all the time,...we found this one back hall in our high school, that was no longer being used and the walls were tiled and the room boomed with echos. We played for our own entertainment, but word got out and the other kids, our friends even heard us, practicing. So we had a minor following. It was so much fun, and we got better, as we went along. I was good enough, by time I was in college, to sit in with some other friends who played guitar and sang, and we performed at a local tavern. It was an "open mic." venue,....so, no pay. It was just for fun, and we were appreciated by our fellow comrades,....I even got a little taste of coed fandom,...(the chicks really liked my action.) Back then, I was a bit of (ham bone),...so I wore clothing that made me look like a seasoned Blues musician. A special vest for my harps, a cool leather jacket, the right hat,...shades over my eyes,.....( John Lennon styled, round, wire rims). People thought I was from NYC, or something. That night, my drinks were paid for, by my fans.
Saw him at the Fairfield Halls Croydon which was when he first met the Yardbirds who were playing a pub (I think it was the Star) the story was that he went to hear them and ended up playing with them for most of their set. Then was invited to join them to record this album which I still have in my collection.
Quality.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I had this albumn when i was a teenager in the early 80s. Got it from rca record club for a penny. All i knew was it was with the yardbirds and i was and still am a huge zeppelin fan. So of course wgen i learned page was in a band b4 zep i had to get some of their albumns and omfg was i introduced to the blues and this wonderful man sonny boy williamson II. This is my favorite version of pontiac blues and i cannot sit still while listening to it. Again thanks for this. Really takes me back.
From Clapton's book quoting Sonny Boy "these white boys wanted to play the blues so bad. And they did play them so bad."
Great cut! It is interesting that the photo of the Yardbirds isn't from this session or the festival. In fact, the photo features Jeff Beck instead of Eric Clapton so it wasn't taken until months or years after these events.
I love....absolutely love the BLUES!!!!
more here now! www.cdbaby.com/cd/foxylady
i saw sonny boy with georgie fame and his blues flames in 64 at the Pearce hall,Maidenhead he was amazing, i was only 16 and thought who is this old bloke, then he started to do the blues with that tiny harp in his mouth and then i thought wow, this man is amazing. Gone now but not but stiil in my mind.
Great old days!
I was there!  1965 or 66.  Last year I met the bloke who used 2 run the Craw Daddy and he said he was relaunching it.  I am 65 myself now and don't live near to Richmond as I did back then so I didn't go.  I saw T-Bone Walker and Little Walter there also - on different occasions.  This is SOOOOO kickin'.  I love it. :)
When the BLUES came to England to enchant a great number of London bands....
