Review by Priscila Wollena

Vicki Lawrence's album And I'll Go is a masterful collection of songs that showcase her unique voice and incredible talent. From the opening track to the final note, Lawrence's songs are filled with emotion, honesty, and a raw, unfiltered beauty that is truly captivating.

The album's standout tracks include "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia," a haunting ballad that tells the story of a woman on the run from the law, and "He Did With Me," a powerful song about a woman who finds strength and independence after a difficult breakup.

Throughout the album, Lawrence's vocals are complemented by lush orchestration and rich, textured arrangements that give each song a sense of depth and complexity. Whether she's singing a ballad or an upbeat pop song, Lawrence's voice is always the focal point, and she delivers each track with the kind of passion and intensity that only a true artist can.

Sonny Curtis wrote this song...he is the songwriter/performer that sings "Love is all around" for the Mary Tyler Moore show....a very talented musician who started playing along side Buddy Holly back in 1956
CHICK CAN SING!!!!!
Hi y'all. I came across an earlier version of "And I'll go" (I think 1965) but by the Everly Brothers: https://youtu.be/gyHq3wD96eA
I'd be interested to hear that song again. I've only heard it once when Vicki performed it on the Mike Douglas show back in the day.
Anthony, not to quibble, but is it possible that Vicki issued another earlier single? I swear I remember Carol introducing her singing "her new single on Decca" on one of the early shows. It wasn't very good, I remember thinking.
When I was a kid, I thought she looked like Carol Burnett. But she doesn't anymore to these older eyes. Vicki does have a much more pleasant singing voice than Carol though.
I just bought the single on Ebay a few weeks ago - there is a single
Does anyone here know if there is a youtube version of Vicki's The Other Woman???
Great info, thanks. I was spooked in a good way by her one hit when I was younger and this sounds like a perfect production that should've been some kind of hit. Nice tune from Sonny Curtis ~ he's one of those people who I'd like hear more things from as whatever I've heard he definitely does right.
@reichardtaj Are you sure that it wasn't? I've never seen it or know that there was one, but I believe that I heard there is at least another verse or two which were used in the earliest episodes only. Anything else to recommend outside that and I Fought The Law that you know of?
@reichardtaj Right! another excellent tune!
