The University of Miami Concert Jazz Band has released their latest album, Picadilly Lilly, and it is a must-have for jazz enthusiasts. The album features a collection of classic jazz tunes and original compositions, showcasing the band's exceptional musicianship and creativity.

From the opening track, "Scrapple from the Apple," to the closing number, "I Remember Clifford," the band's arrangements are tight and polished, with each musician contributing their own unique style to the overall sound. The solos are impressive, with each player displaying their virtuosity and improvisational skills.

One standout track is "Picadilly Lilly," a lively and upbeat original composition that features the band's brass section. The horns are bright and punchy, and the rhythm section keeps the groove tight and steady. Another highlight is "Stolen Moments," a soulful and bluesy tune that showcases the band's dynamic range and emotive playing.

Oh yea! Lieb with Clay! Rawr!!
Crazy man, i was in hs when this came out. It was the first ‘harder than spyro gyra’ blowing instrumentals i had heard and mannnn i had this on vinyl til i had all of Andy Snitzer and Chip Mcneal solos memorized. I couldnt play them yet but it opened my ears and then I heard Brecker and was just /lifeover until Roger Wilder hooked me up with a show on WDNA and ohhh man i heard real Trane then and the light went off MB = Trane licks shedded beastmode in all keys/tempos til he just erupted! Ahhh man. I miss that era. The snow, the beach, a feeling of everything was ok, good maybe even lol. Thanks for sharing. Miss all the cats, esp Whit, i had a glorious oppty my senior year to take lessons and slowly i started to dig the scene he and the Garys made happen.
I thought this was a Randy Tomasello piece called Shopin’ for Pop Licks? Its been 30 years dince i heard you bad mahamma jammas
