Telex - Sigmund Freuds Party

Review by Anirudh Babbar

Telex is a Belgian electronic music group that has been around since the late 1970s. Their latest album, Sigmund Freud's Party, is a tribute to the famous psychoanalyst and explores themes of the unconscious mind and human behavior. The album is a unique blend of electronic beats, retro synths, and catchy melodies that will keep listeners grooving.

The album opens with the track "How Do You Dance?" which sets the tone for the rest of the album. It's a catchy, upbeat song that has a disco vibe, and it's impossible not to dance to it. The album then moves on to "The Man with the Answer," a track that has a more melancholic tone but still manages to be catchy and memorable.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Sigmund Freud's Party." It's a fun, upbeat song that features lyrics about Freud's theories and his influence on modern psychology. The track is quirky and playful, and it's clear that the band had a lot of fun making it.

Another standout track is "Dream-O-Mat." The song has a dreamy, ethereal quality to it, and it's easy to get lost in the hypnotic beats and synths. It's a great track to listen to when you want to relax and unwind.

Belgian all-electronic disco pop band. Formed in 1978 by radio DJ/jazz musician Marc Moulin, programmer/sound engineer Dan Lacksman and vocalist Michel Moers. Expressing articulate, militant views on the essential lightness of pop, the group's tongue-in-cheek championing of disco was not always well understood at the time by the ideologically-correct rock press. Nevertheless, the group's first three singles ("Twist A Saint Tropez

incredibilmente avanti: i kraftwerk del Belgio
Legendary, i love this song! It got pulled out of Spotify recently, so nice to see that it's still on here
My favourite Telex track, RARE video indeed!
Telex Mode!
I remember this! The radio tried to push this way back.
This is not "synth-pop" ... it's something more ahead ... it's futurist, electronic music that becomes "pop" ... the same happens with Kraftwerk and electronica of 90s (Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers, etc ...) ... That's why Telex were so ahead at the time ... synthpop is from 80s, Telex are timeless ...
Released as a single in the UK in July 1982.
