Silent Descent - Duplicity

Review by Rob Metras

Duplicity, the latest album by Silent Descent, is a tour de force of metalcore and industrial metal. The band's signature sound is as heavy as ever, with pummeling drums, chugging guitars, and guttural vocals. But there's also a newfound sense of melody and experimentation that sets Duplicity apart from the band's earlier work.

The album kicks off with "XVII", an ominous instrumental that sets the tone for what's to come. From there, the band launches into "Rob Rodda", a ferocious track that showcases the band's technical prowess and penchant for catchy hooks. "Bitterness" and "Duplicity" follow suit, with blistering riffs and haunting synth lines.

But it's the more experimental tracks that really make Duplicity stand out. "Under the Eagle" features a soaring chorus and a surprising saxophone solo, while "Break the Skies" incorporates electronic beats and glitchy effects. "Coward" is a slow-burning ballad that builds to a cathartic climax, while "Vortex" is a haunting instrumental that could easily soundtrack a horror movie.

What the heck, I love that
fear and loathing in las vegasみたい
She asks to look at her, but only with her eyes,
Pretty cool, reminds me of the band which I believe to be the first mix of trance and melodeath - Blood Stain Child.
