Mexican vocalist. Saúl Martínez García was born on May 30, 1914 in Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, México. From a very young age, Saúl Martínez showed an inclination towards music. He made musical arrangements to the sones of the Istmo de Tehuantepec, putting lyrics to them. In addition, Saúl Martínez made his own compositions.
Initially Saúl Martínez did a duet with his compadre David López called El Dueto Juchiteco. Later when venturing into the radio as a soloist they called him "El Juglar Juchiteco".
When Saúl Martínez participated in the XEW radio station, the announcer Pedro De Lille baptized him as El Trovador del Recuerdo. His first record recording was a collection of Oaxacan sones in 1948 for the RCA Victor brand because the school he followed was Guty Cárdenas. Saúl Martínez also recorded for ANFIÓN discs a musical album called Evocaciones de Guty Cárdenas. He belonged to the Trio "Los Cancioneros del Sur" as the first voice
