Romanian conductor and violinist, born 1903 in Ploieşti , died 1971 in Bucharest.
He was awarded and crowned with a series of awards, medals and titles conquered along its rich artistic activities: Premiul I la concursul pe țară al orchestrelor de muzică populară (1947), Laureat al Premiului de Stat, clasa I (pe anii 1950-1951), Artist emerit al R.P.R. (1954), Ordinul Muncii, clasa a III-a (1956), Maestru Emerit al Artei (1964), Ordinul Meritul Cultural, clasa a II-a (1968), Medalia Chitara de bronz, awarded by the French Academy of Music and Entertainment in Paris (1970).
He is the founder of popular music orchestra ''Ciocârlia'' (1946).
