The album Clean As A Broke Dick Dog by Monkeywrench was a gritty, raw and unapologetic rock and roll experience. The band, comprised of members of Mudhoney, Gas Huffer, and Screaming Trees, delivered a collection of songs that were both musically and lyrically intense.
From the opening track "Bottle Up and Go" to the closing "Clean as a Broke Dick Dog," Monkeywrench held nothing back, with scorching guitar riffs, pounding drums, and powerful vocals. The lyrics were equally as intense, with themes of love, loss, and the human condition.
What stood out most about this album was its authenticity. It was clear that Monkeywrench was not trying to be anything other than themselves, and they succeeded in creating an album that was true to their roots and their sound. It was a refreshing departure from the overproduced and manufactured music that dominates the airwaves today.
