It's Jon Thomas. It was his biggest hit. He was from Cincinnati. Steve Tracy's book "Going To Cincinnati - A History of the Blues in the Queen City" has a page & half in the back about him in the "Blues Scene" chapter. He was also the pianist on Little Willie John's hit "Fever".

This IS john thomas....goes back to 1960....personally told me sold 750,000 copies....was a nabor of mine in 1973.... a nice polite likeabale person...lot of good stories...Chicago...and more....last saw him in 1993 at Che Joi's in Covington, Kentucky....an era gone by.........

It's Jon Thomas. ABC Parmount 10122. Was on the chart simutaneously with Little Willie John's version. I believe this was the same instrumental track as on John's.
