Review by Pioneer Inn And Suites

The album Brandenburg Concertos Nos 3 And 4 by J S Bach, performed by David Oistrach, Alexander Korneyev, Naum Zeidel, and the Chamber Orchestra conducted by Rudolf Barshai, is a masterpiece of classical music. The musicians' exceptional skill and passion for the music are evident throughout the album, making it a treat for any classical music lover.

The album features two of Bach's most celebrated works, the Brandenburg Concertos No. 3 and No. 4. The third concerto is a vibrant and energetic piece that showcases Bach's mastery of counterpoint and harmony. The fourth concerto is a more subdued and introspective work, with a beautiful and haunting second movement that is sure to move listeners.

The performances on this album are exceptional, with each musician bringing their unique talents to the table. Oistrach's violin playing is particularly noteworthy, with his virtuosic solos adding a touch of brilliance to each piece. Korneyev's trumpet playing is also outstanding, and he delivers a stunning performance in the third concerto's second movement.

The Chamber Orchestra, under the skilled direction of Barshai, provides a solid and supportive foundation for the soloists. Their playing is precise and nuanced, and they bring out the best in each piece.

About J S Bach David Oistrach, Alexander Korneyev, Naum Zeidel, Chamber Orchestra conducted By Rudolf Barshai

Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21, 1685 in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany. A prolific German composer and organist, his sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together the strands of the baroque genre and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, a control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France. Many people consider him to be the greatest Baroque composer, and one of the greatest composers of all time. Revered for their intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty, J.S. Bach's works include the Brandenburg concertos, the keyboard suites and partitas, the Mass in B Minor, the St. Matthew Passion, The Musical Offering, The Art of Fugue and a large number of cantatas, of which about 220 survive. He died on July 28, 1750. Some of his sons also became composers - , , and .
