Hirilorn's album, A Hymn To The Ancient Souls, is a haunting and atmospheric journey through the depths of black metal. The French band's second full-length release showcases their ability to create a dense and brooding soundscape that is both powerful and unsettling.
The album opens with "Into the Night," a track that sets the tone for the rest of the album with its slow, crushing riffs and ominous atmosphere. The vocals are harsh and guttural, adding to the sense of darkness and despair that permeates the music.
Throughout the album, Hirilorn expertly weaves together elements of traditional black metal with more atmospheric and experimental elements. "The Last Journey" features eerie, haunting clean vocals that add an extra layer of depth to the already dense sound. "The Unholy One" is a standout track, with its driving rhythm and soaring guitar solos.
