Brett and Rennie Sparks' songwriting is at its finest on In The Air, with each track offering a glimpse into their twisted and poetic worldview. The instrumentation is sparse but effective, with acoustic guitars, banjos, and occasional flourishes of accordion and violin providing the perfect backdrop for the duo's haunting vocals.
Highlights include the eerie "Glow Worm," the mournful "My Friend," and the chilling "The Loneliness of Magnets." But perhaps the standout track is "Far From Any Road," which gained widespread recognition as the theme song for the hit television series True Detective.
