Review by Freedhy Awan

Bayou Country Kentucky Home by Gritz is a captivating album that takes listeners on a journey through the deep south. The album's sound is a unique blend of blues, rock, and country, which creates a distinctive and memorable experience. Gritz's soulful vocals and impressive guitar skills are on full display throughout the album, and the band's tight rhythm section helps to drive the songs forward.

The album's standout tracks include "Bayou Country," "Kentucky Home," and "Southern Nights." "Bayou Country" is a foot-stomping blues number that showcases Gritz's ability to tell a story through his lyrics. "Kentucky Home" is a heartfelt ballad that speaks to the universal longing for a place to call home. "Southern Nights" is a rollicking rock tune that features some of the album's most impressive guitar work.

This group is officially Cold Grits and the Black Eyed Peas. The first salt & pepper band in Louisiana. I introduced the group and their demos to Curtis Amy at Ode Records. The album has never been released. Really good stuff, sorry can;t be shared.

Duke is indeed still rocking. He plays around the Florida panhandle with Hubba Hubba, Dread Clampitt and Old Bull, Young Bull. Two movies have been made about him: Duke and the King, about his years with Elvis, and Bayou Country: The Movie.
