I view this and see only magnificence, of not only the composition and conducting (and collective performance of the orchestra), but also of how far we've come as a society. In watching this, I'm immediately struck that there was once a time when it was OK for only white men to be given the opportunity to perform. We all owe a great debt of gratitude to the many women and people of color who made the way for someone like me to perform. So, to whoever you are who paved the way: I thank you.
You can see that he lives every niote, breathes every phrase. So visceral. The great Leonard Bersntein.

Interesting that today there are no more composers of Bernstein's level. The composers are concerned with showing a series of poorly connected dissonant chords, lacking complete musicality. (from Brazil)

Man, he was one of the greats, among the first American internationally acclaimed conductors. I have never seen anyone conduct with such energy. You can tell the music was part of him. Bravo, maestro. You are missed. ??
