Loool dont get these "hipsters" They all thought they where gangster 3 years ago, and now they think their sick with a quiff? Cmonnnn! Anyway thats my view.... what a banging tune! Was mad at Hospitality Brixton!
I didn't just say it was produced well. It's a good tune in its self too. But tbh it's just all our opinions. It's not really GOOD or BAD. And sure it's not completely old school, but the rapping from general levy defo gives it a jungle vibe, as does the reggae guitar that comes in in some places. I know the other aspects of it is quite medioka, but atleast it has the slightest bit of original concept, unlike so many tunes.
I can do better actually. The tunes I write are a damn sight more ruff than this and are actually jungle. They aren't as 'clean' as Danny Byrd's tunes but that is through choice. As I've said, just because a tune is well produced doesn't mean it's a good tune. Danny Byrd has done good tunes in the past, this tune is just shit. There is no flow/groove to it at all.
OK this has grown on me 100%. I dont care if it is real jungle or whatever, its just awesome, makes you feel happy, and General Levy is an absolute god. And is hilarious.
Well, lemme ask you a question: Do YOU wanna use the same break in EVERY SINGLE TRACK you make when EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON uses it, too? The Amen break is legendary, but people get tired of even legends when they're told over and over again.
Don't really see why you think this is bad. It's a well produced, good throwback tune, mixing old school with new jump up. And it's very fun and heavy. That's what raves are about isn't it? Fun. I really don't understand all that hate on this.
Just because a tune is well produced doesn't mean it's a good tune. Clearly that is the case here. It's got polished turd written all over it. Yeah it is well produced, I'll give Danny that but the tune it's self is shit. No flow, no groove, way over done with the effects, it doesn't go anywhere. There is nothing old skool about this track in the slightest, having General Levy on chatting doesn't make a tune oldskool.
drop = 3
This track brings up so many wicked memories. Great, great stuff.
