Review by Stefano Patarnello

The album Pulsing Dance Mix by Body Electric has been a hit among dance music enthusiasts. The album features an energetic mix of electronic beats and pulsating rhythms that keep the listener engaged from start to finish. The tracks are well-produced and the transitions between them are seamless, creating a cohesive listening experience.

The album opens with the track "Pulsing Dance," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its driving bassline and catchy melody. Other standout tracks include "Electric Dreams," which features a hypnotic synth riff and a thumping beat, and "Body Language," which has a more laid-back groove but is still infused with plenty of energy.

About The Body Electric

One of the first electronic bands in New Zealand, The Body Electric were formed in 1982 by , although he was credited on first releases as Alan Jimson, and . During their initial rehearsals, they were then joined by actor-turned-singer . The group's debut single, Pulsing, was picked up by radio programmers and spent 27 weeks in the charts. Not entirely indicative of their sound, the track has a novelty quality to it. Following that, Andy Drey was replaced by bassist and the group released two more singles (Dreaming In A Life and Imagination) and a full length album before splitting in 1984. Jansson went into record production in Auckland, and Smith was later the manager of The New Zealand Ballet Company.

-------they've always been one of my favorite bands...........i wish they had churned out more albums............
true story...we got this 12inch and used it as a Frisbee back in the day...ended up over the neighbours fence...dont bother getting it back...such brats we were...daggy music...we were into Rattus by the Stranglers...real hard music for tough little boys...not pulsing for whimps...but all credit due they did their thing and good on them...

Does your father have an copies of the video that was made based on a show at the Majestic Cabaret? Would you ask? Ta!
I loved how Pulsing took the piss out of some of the souless synth bands of the day. Body Electric were pretty ahead of the curve in many ways.
Saved my pennies to buy this 12'' back in the day!
The lead singer is currently the stage manager for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. He is the man.
NZ Dance.
I agree they really were as good as anyone back then (circa The Human League, Simple Minds.) And what was that guy's name, the lead singer? We called him Gaz, and I think maybe his reall name was Gary. Does anyone know? I would love to track him down. He was a big guy - really big - a la Kim Dot Com.....
The Mighty Boosh - Electroboy has got to be influenced by this.
Always loved this Song...Fantasic Band...Excellent Version...O for Orsome...Cheers...
