Review by Schouwey Barbara

Live At The Gaslight NYC Sept 6th 1961 is a remarkable album that captures the essence of Bob Dylan's early years as a folk singer. Recorded at the Gaslight Cafe in Greenwich Village, New York City, the album features Dylan's live performance on September 6th, 1961.

The album is a must-have for any Dylan fan, as it showcases his raw talent and his ability to connect with the audience. The songs are stripped down and acoustic, with Dylan's distinctive voice and guitar playing front and center. The album includes some of Dylan's early classics, such as "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall," "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," and "Bob Dylan's Dream."

The sound quality of the album is surprisingly good, considering it was recorded over 50 years ago. The audience noise adds to the ambiance of the performance, making it feel like you are right there in the Gaslight Cafe.

God the Guthrie and Van Ronk influence is so clear in this period
I still feel that time.....we were "freewheeling".....on the dusty roads we found what`s precious....that was our strength, our hope for tomorrow.....and we were running towards the setting sun never thinking of something wrong....
I’m just realizing he used the tune of Pretty Polly for his Ballad of Hollis Brown.
Thank God we no longer have to call him Elston Gunn.
Love You Forever Bob Dylan
Wow...phenomenal photos and recordings ?
So good to see him when he was really young, he seems so sweet and kind and I'm sure he still is I hope.
His girlfriend was so beautiful.
It must have been a wonderful life back then walking the streets of New York I guess.
he's still my favorite musician after all these many many decades and I ask for God's blessing to be upon him.

The unwashed phenomenon... I can see why Baez sang this on diamonds and rust.. Dylan was a legend from the moment he showed up in New York... He had tons of old traditional folk songs and was already writing some but with that nasally tone and the bad guitar/harmonica sound he fast became the go to guy that mesmerized his audience and then Baez heard about him in late 62 and met up with him in 63 and because of her was able to bring his status to the stars...
Immenso Bob, genio inimitabile
Big Thanks!!!
The Philosopher!
Wow! This sounds so fresh. I almost got robbed in East Orange when I was a wee lad. It was at the train station.
I have been performing Dylan songs since 1974. I have quite a few of my efforts on Youtube. I have never heard this before. I will work on it to add to my rep.
when my friend past i played he was a freind of mine thanks bob
