La Guiditta, an album by Alessandro Scarlatti, Alessandro Stradella Consort, and Estevan Velardi, is a stunning work of Baroque music. The album features a collection of arias and duets from Scarlatti's oratorio La Giuditta, performed with a great sense of depth and emotion by the Alessandro Stradella Consort.
The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful aria "Quel torrente che cade dal monte," sung by soprano Roberta Mameli. Her voice is clear and pure, soaring above the ensemble with ease. The duet "Oh, Dio, che fa?" between Mameli and countertenor Filippo Mineccia is equally impressive, with the two voices intertwining in perfect harmony.
Another standout track is "Chi m'ha scordato di te," sung by tenor Luca Cervoni. His voice is rich and expressive, conveying the pain and longing of the lyrics with great sensitivity. The ensemble provides a lush, intricate accompaniment that adds depth and texture to the piece.
