About シティボーイ

City Boy were a moderately successful English rock band in the late 1970s, characterised by complex vocal arrangements and heavy guitars. Their most popular songs were "5.7.0.5." and "The Day The Earth Caught Fire". In the early 1970s Lol Mason, Steve Broughton, Max Thomas and Chris Dunn were playing folk music in the Birmingham area. They toured the clubs of the Midlands until, towards the end of 1975, they decided to turn professional. Meanwhile Broughton had begun to write quite impressive songs. They were offered a recording contract by Phonogram Records on condition that they change their name (they were called "Back In the Band") and add drums and electric guitar. This prompted them to recruit Roger Kent and Mike Slamer. Their first albums failed to impress the audience, although some critics gave quite favourable reviews to City Boy (1975) and Dinner At The Ritz (1976). It was not until 1978, and their hit song "5.7.0.5.

City Boy on blue vinyl! Flip side is a slightly shortened version of “What a Night,” a song not even included on the 8-track version of Book Early I had as a kid!

Dizziness came with various stages for my partner for four to five years, so I provided him the dizziness vertigo remedy “Yοyο kamvuku” (Google it). 4 days after, he began to have a clearer mind for a good time period, but not yet fully. I am hoping this remedy will be the answer and also he`ll have no more dizziness troubles to suffer from.

City Boy were one of many original bands from the early mid 70's, I like to compare them with 10cc and ELO. They had enough songs to hit the charts , but out of 6 albums only 2 or 3 songs entered the top 40 in the UK. 'The Day the Earth caught Fire' is an excellent album and are up there among the best. They did not get enough airplay on the radio at the time, not mainstream enough ? I wouldn't say that , they were just unlucky with the timing. Now , thanks to Youtube , new fans will appreciate and understand how good they really were.

City Boy must have had bad management/promoter. They were every bit as talented and equal to Supertramp, 10CC, ELO.
Why they never made the "big time" like those other bands is a real head scratcher.
I don't care if anyone is offended but IMO City Boy was like a combination of or the same genre of the bands mentioned earlier which is a good thing...A very good thing indeed.

Nicole Ward you are proud of your granddad and rightly so, he was the drummer in the band but also the most amazing vocalist, please tell him i bought his albums at the time, still have them and have listened to him sing a million times, from a lifelong fan.

Well, I wrote that almost 4 years ago but Amazon possibly? There's also a newer re-release made in Japan so perhaps the Japanese Amazon is another option.

I was into City Boy way b4 ELO...Dinner at the Ritz was on my stereo for years, in fact i wish it was rereleased and it wont need any touching up as it was a great sounding lp...take a walk on the water..very heavy very humble
