Review by Emre Doğrubakar

Vera Smirnova's album Прощай Москва Ухарь Kупец is a captivating journey through Russian folk music. With her rich and soulful voice, Smirnova breathes new life into traditional songs, infusing them with a contemporary energy that is both exciting and authentic.

The album opens with the title track, a mournful ballad that tells the story of a young woman leaving Moscow for the countryside. Smirnova's voice is hauntingly beautiful as she sings of the city's lights fading away in the distance.

Throughout the album, Smirnova showcases her impressive vocal range and versatility, seamlessly transitioning from somber laments to lively dance tunes. Standout tracks include "Калинка", a classic Russian folk song that Smirnova infuses with a modern twist, and "Во поле береза стояла", a lively and upbeat track that will have listeners tapping their feet.

Great music! Too bad the clip stops a second or two way from the actual end.
