SB memories!!!
Thanks for posting this! Got anymore DBC? My tapes are long gone.
Coolest band to come out of Santa Barbara -- they ruled the late Eighties. So glad to find this cut on YouTube. Loved the band.
These guys ruled SLO back in the day, greatest dance parties ever!
remember their hot shows at Howard's in BG in the early 80's
They hired me to be "drummie" at a show (no rehearsal! :P) at old Charlie's in Ventura in the early 90s. One of the funnest gigs of my life and such cool, cool dudes.
Oh I miss Barsidies!!!! Spent many a night there skanking to Crucial DBC and getting crazy in IV. Good Times!!!!!!!!
Yeah, proper skankin' was the order of the day! yeaaaaah! (Sorry, old Vespa-fan here. - Rode with them Lambretta's those "Lammies" to all the ska-shows in San Francisco! - Nice post on your part! - Cheers!
Crucial Dread Beat Control, opened for the Toasters, Skatalites, No Doubt,
or the Selecter, seen them all at Slim's SOMA S.F. back in the 90's! Long live ska-music!
Reunion Tour! Barsodis, Isla Vista, CA :)
Brings back great memories of my times at BGSU in '84 & '85. Thanks for the post. I remember a performance at the lawn of the bookstore..,
Hung out with these guys in Bowling Green, OH, before they moved to SF.
By the way; this brings back some good memories of riding my old '74 vespa 150 super with some mates from S.F. Secret Society scooter club to some shows at Slims, S.F., to see bands like Donkey Show, Bim Skala Bim, the Skatalites, and my favorite: Pauline Black and the Selecter! Cheers again!
I've been enjoying this song for the past 25 years. Crucial provided the music for so many memorable and uplifting moments in Bowling Green. Anyone of you still making music?
♥️
This a brilliant song, and much props to you for uploaading it to youtube! But this song is so good and classic, that it needs some more gain/volume! _ I saw Crucial DBC and the Toasters live in SF, and they rocked the fuckin' rocksteady beats! - Maybe I can also upload this song, with the volume cranked up. - Maybe I just need better speakers! - cheers mate!
thank you for uploading this!! listened to this cd so much when i was a kid. so great to be able to hear it again
Big Ups CRUCIAL DBC!!!! So good
?????????☠️?
Evan Dorkin signed the cover art poster for the first volume for me YEARS ago when he worked at Jim Hanley's Universe on Staten Island, I really hope I still have that somewhere, I've moved so many times.
Tengo este álbum en Cassete, lo conseguí en el tianguis del Chopo (soy de Mèxico) y no lo había podido pasar a formato MP3. Gracias por compartir. Un abrazo!

This comp. came along the same time BAY CITY SKA was released if anybody finds that on disk or album form check it out!!! it was probably some of the best independent ska (known to man)some great sounds much like the first wave punk that was available, anybody out there that wants to educate your music taste this is it...let's bring back taste in music.Too much garbage is getting released or escaping to rot the young boys and girls mind.So much great old stuff we don't need to be infected with junk.
I had this in college in 1989. It was the go-to party album. Also, does anyone know if the singer of The Now was also the lead singer of Lucy Brown?
I bought this album when I was 13, it was my introduction to a life long love affair with ska.... 30 years later no regrets!
