Carbeth is the fourth album released by the Scottish folk-rock band, Trembling Bells. The album is a delightful fusion of traditional folk music with a contemporary twist. The album is a perfect blend of enchanting melodies, powerful lyrics and intricate instrumentation.
The album opens with the track "Killing Time in London Fields," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The track features haunting vocals by lead singer Lavinia Blackwall, accompanied by an intricate acoustic guitar riff. The album continues with a mix of upbeat and melancholic tracks, including "I'm Coming" and "Sweet Death Polka."
The standout track on the album is "Bells of Burford," a 10-minute epic that showcases the band's exceptional musicianship. The track is a perfect example of the band's ability to blend traditional folk music with progressive rock elements. The track features a powerful guitar solo by Mike Hastings and a mesmerizing violin solo by Simon Shaw.
