Review by Kelly Johnson

The Rusholme Ruffians, the third track from the album Meat Is Murder by The Smiths, is a standout song that showcases the band's signature sound and Morrissey's lyrical prowess. The track features an upbeat melody with jangly guitar riffs and driving drum beats that complement Morrissey's distinctive vocals. The lyrics tell a story of a group of mischievous youths in the Rusholme district of Manchester, and their exploits in the local pub. The song's blend of catchy hooks and insightful lyrics make it an essential track for fans of The Smiths and alternative rock in general. The Rusholme Ruffians is a standout track on an already excellent album and is sure to please fans of the band and newcomers alike.

The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The group consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke, and drummer Mike Joyce. Critics have called them one of the most important bands to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. In 2002, the NME named the Smiths "the artist to have had the most influence on the NME". In 2003, all four of their albums appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". The band broke up in 1987 due to internal tensions and have turned down several offers to reunite.
