Slave - Stone Jam

Review by Sufi Faqir

Stone Jam, the fifth studio album by the American funk band Slave, released in 1980, is a true gem of the funk genre. The album features a fantastic blend of funk, soul, and R&B, with infectious grooves and catchy melodies that will keep you dancing from start to finish.

The album opens with the upbeat and funky "Let's Spend Some Time," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's signature sound is evident throughout the album, with tight rhythms, funky guitar riffs, and smooth vocals.

Tracks like "Watching You" and "Sizzlin' Hot" showcase the band's ability to create infectious hooks and grooves that are impossible not to move to. The album also features slower, more soulful tracks like "Dreamin'" and "Stone Jam," which provide a nice change of pace and showcase the band's versatility.
