Musk Ox - Woodfall

The album "Woodfall" by Musk Ox is a masterful blend of folk, classical, and ambient music that transports the listener on a journey through the Canadian wilderness. The trio, consisting of Nathanaël Larochette on guitar and cello, Evan Runge on violin, and Raphael Weinroth-Browne on cello, create a rich and immersive soundscape that evokes the beauty and majesty of their native landscape.
The opening track, "Earthrise," sets the tone for the album with its gentle guitar and cello melodies that gradually build into a soaring crescendo of strings. The following tracks, such as "Above the Clouds" and "Windswept," showcase the trio's virtuosity and interplay as they weave intricate and emotive melodies together.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Parting Ways," which features haunting vocals by Canadian singer-songwriter Jennifer Castle. Her ethereal voice blends seamlessly with the acoustic instrumentation, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that lingers long after the song has ended.

Musk Ox is a Canadian Neofolk project formed by guitarist Nathanaël Larochette, now featuring members Raphael Weinroth- Browne (cello) and Evan Runge (violin). With two full-length albums, three self-recorded demos and two compilation appearances to their name, Musk Ox has established itself as a creative force in the world of Neofolk.
