Review by Cleverson Lima

The album Klavierkonzert Nr3 C moll Opus 37 by Ludwig van Beethoven Clara Haskil, Orchestre Des Concerts Lamoureux, Igor Markevitch is a masterpiece that showcases the skill and artistry of its performers. The album features a powerful performance of Beethoven's third piano concerto, which is widely regarded as one of his most significant works.

Clara Haskil's interpretation of the concerto is breathtaking, with her playing displaying a remarkable depth of emotion and a keen understanding of the piece's nuances. Her performance is perfectly complemented by the Orchestre Des Concerts Lamoureux's rich and full-bodied sound, which adds a layer of depth and complexity to the music.

The album as a whole is a testament to the enduring power of Beethoven's music and the skill of these exceptional performers.

German composer and pianist, born in 1770 (baptized 17 December 1770) in Bonn, Germany and died 26 March 1827 in Vienna, Austria. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in classical music. Beethoven led Viennese Classicism to its highest development and paved the way for Romantic music. Beethoven was the eldest son of a singer in the Kapelle of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and grandson of the Archbishop's Kapellmeister. He moved in 1792 to Vienna, where he had some lessons from Haydn and others, quickly establishing himself as a remarkable keyboard-player and original composer. By 1815 increasing deafness made public performance impossible and accentuated existing eccentricities of character, patiently tolerated by a series of rich patrons and his royal pupil the Archduke Rudolph. Beethoven did much to enlarge the possibilities of music and widen the horizons of later generations of composers. To his contemporaries he was sometimes a controversial figure, making heavy demands on listeners both by the length and by the complexity of his writing, as he explored new fields of music.

haven't found one who can match Clara in this piece, just so musical with a perfect sense of balance and taste. Gilels is also good, but in certain passages becomes a bit unuanced compared to Clara. Hard to grasp the extent of her genius.
La piu'grande pianista del novecento
Min 29:22. Great smiles : Clara dance the rondo better than an 18 years old.
Masterpiece
