About Grupo Vera

Grupo Vera is a venezuelan folklore music group. It was founded in La Victoria city, in Aragua state on june 10, 1978. Between their founders are Juan Díaz, Aníbal Guerreiro,Ivan Salas, Wilfredo Aristiguieta, by the way the last one, son of the iconic folklore singer . Later joined them Boris Pedrá, Jorge Polo Medina, José Osta, Neisa Delgado, Mélida Lugo, Zuleima Heras, Fael Alvarado y Ciro Herrera. Their repertoire is based on venezuelan coast music, specially from coast of Aragua state and Puerto Cabello, this is, fulías, parrandas, and other rythms as Jota Margariteña, polos, tamunangues, between others. Following the footprint of Grupo Folklorico Experimenta Madera () and , on 1983, it was founded a Dance and Music School (Escuela Taller de Música y Folklore), their goal is to search and spread the folklore artistic expresions along the country, teaching how play every instrument involved in musical expresions as Velorio de Cruz de Mayo, San Juan's Party, Diablos Danzantes, Velorios de Angelitos, a typical tradition from Lara state, and how dance every rythm, and with special emphasis on La Llora's Dance, an autoctonic dance borned in La Victoria city.
