Notes

  • Tribal Waves' third release comes from new comer Gary The Apprentice, with the label commissioning remixes from Zuni, whom Kevin Gorman remixed three times on the label's second release, and Dutch brothers Stephan and Vincent De Wit. The title track blends staccato synth shots with an Adam Bayer-like bassline, while "Continuous Grooves" shelves heaving low end for '90s, Ben Sims-like tribalisms. The De Wit's largely do away with musicality in their industrial remix of "The Loft Of Grooves", while Zuni's 'groovy' remix to Gary The Apprentice sees the young Scotsman give his version a slight touch of dub techno.
  • Late submission of release.

About Gary The Apprentice

Gary the Apprentice started mixing in 2004 at the age of 16 and by 2006 had played at his first gig. In the same year, he began producing his own music, whilst studying for a Diploma in Sound Production. Gary has honed his own, unique style of techno; heavily influenced by older styles of the genre, including jackin techno, as well as industrial and hardcore. Not one to shy away from experimentation, he has also been known to dabble in Electronica. Being a true techno head and passionate about sharing his music, and the music of others, Gary set up his own label, GTA Digital, which launched in 2013. The labels mission is to share proper, underground techno, free of charge, with an option for supporters to make a donation on download. Keeping it real, were sure youll agree! As a DJ, Gary plays all kinds of techno, but has become best known for his signature, straight-up, banging sets. As a producer, his love for this kind of techno is apparent too, but with all tracks remaining diverse, and very much in his own unique style. Gary has played at clubs and free parties across the UK, including a set at Mischief festival In West Sussex in 2012, alongside the likes of Jerome Hill and The Producer. He has also played for the likes of Twisted and Brainfire (Glasgow), JakN (Edinburgh), Cause It (Edinburgh) to name just a few examples.
