Fossils - Whale

Review by Jennifer Ford

Fossils' album "Whale" is a masterpiece of experimental rock. The band's unique sound combines elements of indie, punk, and post-rock to create a haunting and mesmerizing listening experience.

The album's opening track, "Intro," sets the tone for the rest of the record with its eerie, atmospheric soundscapes. From there, the band launches into the driving and energetic "Burning Bridges," which showcases their ability to craft catchy, memorable hooks.

Other standout tracks on the album include the epic "Whale," which features soaring guitar lines and a powerful vocal performance from lead singer Tanmay Chatterjee, and the haunting "Ghost of a Smile," which builds to a crushing climax.

Throughout the album, Fossils demonstrate an impressive range of musical styles and influences, from the brooding post-punk of "The Knife" to the dreamy shoegaze of "Waves." The band's musicianship is top-notch, with each member contributing to the complex and layered sound.
