Lesser Oceans by Fences is a stunning album that showcases the talent and creativity of the band's frontman, Christopher Mansfield. The album is a beautiful blend of indie rock and folk, with Mansfield's haunting vocals and heartfelt lyrics taking center stage.
From the opening track "Songs About Angels," the listener is drawn into Mansfield's world of introspection and self-reflection. The album's standout tracks include "Arrows" and "My Mountain Is Cold," which both feature soaring choruses and intricate guitar work.
One of the album's strengths is its ability to balance introspective ballads with more upbeat, anthemic tracks. "Sunburns" and "The Lake" are perfect examples of this, with their catchy melodies and driving rhythms.
